SAMPLE TEXT. Nine days that begin before you arrive. The preparation is part of it: what you stop doing in the fortnight beforehand shapes what the the forest can actually reach. We travel in a group small enough that nobody is anonymous, and slowly enough that the days stop counting themselves.
